The Expedition Returns To Columbus, New Mexico

Some minor actions occurred at Parral and Carrizal, but neither American nor Mexican authorities were anxious for a pitched battle that might have involved the nations in actual war. The expedition started in March 1916 and was withdrawn a few months later, after diplomatic negotiations had been carried on between the Governments. Villa was not captured and the expedition was aborted.
